Hawkathon 2016 (named for our mascot, the River Hawk) was a huge success, with almost 100 participants from all over the state hacking through the night to bring their ideas to life. This year, we are partnering with the Massachusetts eHealth Initiative and MIT Hacking Medicine to bring an even awesomer 24-hour Digital Health hackathon to UMass Lowell. We want this event to cultivate the innovative culture in and around Lowell, as well as spark new minds toward digital health entrepreneurship.
Digital Health is a booming industry, with Massachusetts being a major contributor. Like last year’s Hawkathon, this event will be opened to student hackers from across the Northeast. Our goal is to bring together students from all disciplines, so they can develop cutting edge solutions to today’s medical problems. They can build novel medical devices, networks for better first responder efficiency, programs for improved diagnostic accuracy, and so much more. Join us on March 3rd-4th at UMass Lowell's O'Leary Library!
